Following the successful pilot run last year, the OBS “Shackleton's Journey” Leadership Course returns to equip one with Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ten leadership practices. This programme is exclusive to existing clients of OBS and is tagged at a subsided cost. To encourage interaction between participants from various schools, each school are limited to 4 participants. The local students will also get a chance to mingle with participants from overseas Outward Bound centres to allow greater learning and growth through a diversity of profile.

Programme Design
In honour of his Antarctica Adventure, the program is designed on the story based on Shackleton’s epic voyage on board the ship “Endurance”. Through the Outward Bound Singapore 7-day expeditionary journey, participants will learn about their own strengths and weaknesses; the importance of mental tenacity; effective leadership skills and how to overcome challenges.

Most importantly, participants will understand the leadership practices of Shackleton that inspired many participants such as Samantha Lau Li Xia from Raffles Girls’ School who shared, “I learnt to dare to challenge authority at the right time.  As a leader, I have to be optimistic yet practical and motivate my followers.”

This programme provides fresh and new experience for participants who have taken part in leadership programmes previosuly, as summarised by Jasper Tan Yong Kang from St Hilda’s Secondary School, “This was definitely more tiring and difficult, but it’s all worthwhile as it was more enjoyable and I learnt how to be a better leader.” 

Miguel B.Lumapas from Philippines also shared, “I really learnt and grew a lot. I attended a lot of trainings and seminars before, but OBS had made the biggest impact so far.”
