The quote - “The people maketh the company” is often used to refer to the fact that the strength of any company is its own staff. Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) is no exception.

The various departments in OBS, namely administration, business development, client management, training, estate management, logistics and medical, are staffed by a diverse mix of people who are highly trained in their own specialised fields. They are all highly committed to the organisation’s mission and also to their quality of work.

An important ingredient for the success of OBS is our team of instructors. We have more than 90 full time instructors. All our instructors are selected through a stringent process where individuals with a positive attitude and an aptitude for the outdoors are handpicked. They will then undergo more than 4 months of full time training, where they will be trained in various outdoor skills, soft skills, safety and medical procedures. Their work is not merely about the transfer of skills or knowledge, but more importantly, they are trained to inspire and motivate each and every participant to start the journey to self-discovery.
